Unreliable motherboard,
I have purchased two of these motherboards (I assemble PC’s as a part time endeavor) and had to replace both of them for
different problems. The first one lasted about two weeks then began having USB power surge problems. After spending quite
a lot of time diagnosing the problem I determined it was the motherboard. I obtained a warranty replacement, installed it
and the problem was resolved. The second one lasted about 3 months then began having hard drive controller problems. After
once again spending a lot of time diagnosing the problem (and a couple of hard drive replacements) I determined the problem
was (once again) with the motherboard. Replaced the motherboard and the problem was resolved! I can not recommend this
board, due to my personal experience with these failures. True, it’s inexpensive, but then I suppose you get only what
you pay for! Until this experience, I had a high opinion of Asus boards. If you want a reliable motherboard, then expect
to spend at least a hundred dollars.

|AS Rock Motherboard,
I had absolutely no problems with this motherboard. It worked perfectly the first time. I had thought that such an inexpensive motherboard was bound to fail, but I was wrong. This is a super buy, and the motherboard works just fine.

|Perfect fit for the job!,
I got this mobo to replace a bad one in my 6 year old HP with an intel core 2 duo cpu and ddr2 RAM. Swapped all the goodies, booted right into Windows 7, and after about 20 minutes of automatic driver installations by Windows I was ready to go. Installed the drivers from the cd for good measure (Windows doesn’t always find the best ones) and overclocking utilities. I have no intention of overclocking, as I am no gamer, but it has the fan control utility. The default for the cpu fan is high, which is quite noisy, but with the utility you can set the fan to 10 different levels of spin. I keep it at 4, which is pretty silent, and the cpu stays at nice cool temps. I would recommend this mobo to anyone who wants something to get the job done without a lot of frills.
